Winterberry is a small shrub that is a species of holly. It doesn't tend to grow more than 4 or 5 feet, although it can grow up to 10 feet when it is happy. Most shrubs I have seen have not been more than 5 feet. It likes wet feet and wet conditions, along with full sun. It produces red berries that stay during the winter and provide visual interest. It is a near native shrub to northwestern Ontario.
