Smooth rose is native to northwestern Ontario although not as commonly found as wild rose (rosa acicularis). While it has thorns on its older growth, new growth does not tend to have thorns. Smooth rose likes full to part sun, dry to average soil, and will spread. It will grow 3 to 6 feet. It blooms in the spring.
