Black spruce is a classic conifer tree of the boreal forest. Black spruce is generally a smaller tree than white spruce unless grown in ideal conditions. These trees are long living. Black spruce prefers full to partial sun and wet soils. It can often be found growing in wet and boggy areas.
Trees sourced as greenhouse grown plugs from Pineneedle Farms near Kawartha Lakes and grown out on our property in Pass Lake.
