I'm Elaine. Mom. Wife. Professor. Gardener. Coffee lover. Vintage lover. Lover of Nature. I love our native gardens where I can observe life on a different scale. I'm an avid gardener who has been gardening with native plants for over 15 years. I come by my love of gardening through my Dutch farming and gardening heritage. Growing is in my blood with a long history of farmers both in the Netherlands and Canada. In 2004, I moved to northwestern Ontario and fell in love with this place. I knew that I had moved home, where my heart had always belonged.
I'm Harvey. Dad. Husband. Professor. Coffee lover. Outdoor lover. Lover of Nature. I love being outside doing physical activity like biking and pushing myself to be the best I can be. I love our native gardens where I can slow down and observe the insects and birds. I am a certified pollinator steward with the Pollinator Partnership. I grew up in northwestern Ontario and after leaving for some years, I came back in 2003. I moved back home and fell in love again with home.
I'm Gabriel. Student. Son. Lover of Nature. I love being outside watching insects in our gardens. I was born in northwestern Ontario and love this place I call home.
In July 2023, we decided to expand our gardens in town and bought 27.8 acres in Pass Lake, Ontario. As native plant gardeners for well over a decade, we struggled to find sources of native plants for our gardens. Recognizing a gap in our community, we decided to try to fill it.
Together, we are whispers from the north Native Plants.
Our nursery is located at 445 Pass Lake Road (Hwy 587) in Pass Lake.
