About US
we are whispers from the north Native Plants. We have over two decades of experience growing, planting, tending, and loving native plant gardens. We've read voraciously, attended webinars, listened to podcasts, taken courses, gotten certified, had our gardens certified as Monarch Waystations and backyard habitats, conducted workshops and education, conducted research, participated in advocacy efforts, and more.
Our nursery is located at 445 Pass Lake Road (Hwy 587) in Pass Lake. We have 27.8 acres on the Sibley peninsula. Boreal forest covers most of our property, consisting of trees such as balsam fir, white spruce, eastern white cedar, paper birch, and showy mountain ash. We're fortunate to also have many different shrubs and small trees, including red osier dogwood, bush honeysuckle, red elderberry, pin cherry, northern fly honeysuckle, and chokecherry. Plant species such as nodding trillium, pyrola, northern bluebells, naked mitrewort, violets, blue eyed grass, and many other species are also found on our property. We've also been working on developing seed beds and demonstration gardens on areas on our property. When you come on site, you'll have an opportunity to explore.
